The first Friendly Service Circle meeting of the year wil be held on Tuesday, March 1st at 7:00 p.m. program leader is Susann Cronau and there will be a light supper provided by the hostesses.

Please plan to join the group for the planning of the new year projects and enjoy the fellowship.

Service Circle actively supports many missions, both local & global. All of the women of the church are needed to join in the planning and support all of these missions.

The youth will meet at the church on Friday for an over-nighter to raise money for World Vision. They will learn about the impact that hunger has on people all around the world. The money they raise will go to projects to help alleviate hunger.

Friendly Service Circle will host a quilting day beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Bring your lunch and stay as ling as you want.

The Good Friday service will begin at 7:00 p.m. We will be doing the traditional "service of darkness" which is focused on the seven sayings of Jesus from the cross. The service will include meditational readings, along with special music. Everyone is welcome.

This is a fundraiser to help our youth raise funds for "World Vision's Haiti Relief Project." Baked potatoes, with a slection of toppings, along with dessert and drinks will be offered. Baskets will be placed on tables for donations.

Also, Rober Scott (father of Mark Scott & Rebecca Bowman) will be on hand to display his collection of arrowheads.

Everyone is invited to attend.

The Executive Committee will meet immediately following the worship service on Sunday, February 12th. The members of the committee should bring thier own lunch. Each committee chair person should be prepared to give a report on the activities and goals of their respective committee. We will go over the calendar of church events for the year. We will also work on revising the job descriptions for each committee for the Danville Friends Church Handbook.

Join us Saturday, January 21st at 9:00 a.m. for our annual church Prayer Breakfast. We will meet in the fellowship room for a full breakfast which will be provided and served by the members of Ministry & Counsel. Following breakfast we will gather in a circle in the worship room and spend time in guided prayer.

The Wee Friends Christmas program will be prsented here at Danville Friends Church on Wednesday, December 14th at 7:00 p.m.

There will be about 20 children participating in this annual holiday event this year. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship room following the program.

Our annual decorating party will begin following worship on November 27th. The festivities will start off with a finger food pitch-in. Please bring a finger food to share. The Chr. Ed. Comm. will provide drinks, including a special holiday punch. The committee will also have a birthday cake of dessert.

Following lunch, we will decorate the trees in the worship room and the fellowship room. The children will make decorations for the tree in the fellowship room.

The KIDS FOR CHRIST CLUB will be starting again for the 2011-12 year beginning, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH The weekly meeting will begn a 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 7:45 p.m.

All children beginning at age 4 through grade 5 are invited to come!

Our OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE and PICNIC will take place on Sunday, August 7th at 10:30 a.m. The service will be held at the picnic shelter at the rear of our campus. Everyone is invited to come and bring their lawn chairs. Please dress casually and come prepared for a time of good Christian fellowship & informal worship.

THERE WILL BE NO NURSERY CARE OR CHILDREN'S CHURCH. The playground is off limits during worship. We ask that children remain with their parents until the service is ended.

We will have our annual CHURCH PICNIC immediately following our worship service. The Christian Education Committee will provide fried chicken & drinks. You are asked to bring side dishes to share with everyone: salads, vegetables, desserts, etc.

Plan to stay after lunch for a time of fellowship. There will be lawn games for both children & adults. One feature this year will be a corn hole tournment. There will also be a very special surprise for the children in the afternoon.

Marcia has resigned as assistant director of Wee Friends Childcare Ministry and we would like to recognize her for her devotion for the last 15 years. Please bring some finger foods and join in honoring her. Also bring pictures you may have to help make a scrapbook for her.

The Theme of VBS this year is: "Sing Praise to the Lord."

Children age four through the fifth grade are invited to register. Registration forms are available in the church foyer for those who would like to register early.

Rebecca Bowman is serving as Director again this year. Volunteers are needed to help in various ways. If you would like to help with VBS this year, please contact Rebecca or call the church office at 745-5348.

Everyone is invited to attend this year's graduation program. There are nine children who will graduate from preschool this year. Also nine children will be promoted from the younger preschool class to the older one. Refreshments will follow in the fellowship room.

This is a service that takes place during a formal sit-down meal. The traditional Jewsih Passover meal is celebrated with a Christian interpretation.

Children are encouraged to attend, along with the adults. reservations are needed in advance. There is a sign-up sheet in the church foyer. You may also phone in your reservation to the church office at 745-5348.

The youth are hosting a Chili Cook-Off and Abe Lincoln Look Alike Contest on Sunday, February 13th. Share ypour favorite chili. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. There is also a sign-up list for those who would like to just bring a side item.

There will also be a contest to see who can do the best Abe Lincoln impression. Come and enjoy the fun & the fellowship!
